A jewel in the crown of Bedfordshire's fantastic pub scene, the Sun in Felmersham is worth every little ounce of hype it gets.

The Sun is a beautiful thatched pub in the quiet village of Felmersham, positioned along one of the most lovely parts of the Great River Ouse. The pub underwent a bit of a spruce up a few years ago, adding in a couple of boutique rooms above that are the perfect luxury foodie destination for a weekend away in the English countryside, and a great spot for exploring more of Bedfordshire. Think luxury products, a roll top copper bath and freshly made shortbread, still warm from the oven, waiting in your room on your arrival. Plus, the breakfast is very special.

I think the Sun is a pub that really is perfect for any occasion. Whether you're looking for fine dining and a special occasion spot, a cosy date night, a fantastic pub garden to sink a few beers in or an award winning Sunday Roast, what more could you want?

Well actually, there is more. They also could help with your wedding at one of Bedfordshire's coolest outdoor wedding venues and their sister business, the Lakeside at Wild Berry Farm.

From Thursday to Saturday, you can book a table in the dining room to indulge in the Farmers Table tasting menu. The menu changes seasonally but always champions local produce, with a lot of it being very local indeed from the neighbouring villages.

If you fancy something a little lighter than a 5 course tasting menu, they also serve a super exciting bar food menu from the Hatch which you can enjoy in the bar or the garden, if it's warm enough.

On Sundays, you are in for a real treat. The Sunday roast at the Sun is a veritable feast and it's no surprise they were featured in the Good Food Guide's Top 50 Roasts. The roast dinner options are bountiful, with plates piled high and lots of veggies to dig in to as well. It is hard to get a table on a Sunday but my top secret tip is that you can eat in the bar without a booking, plus it's dog friendly! Just turn up early as you won't get a table otherwise!

The Sun is a pub I return to again and again and never get bored. There is always something new to discover and there is a reason it is so well loved.
