Bedford's hottest new opening is really bringing the fire! Fuego is serving up an exciting menu of authentic Spanish tapas and show stopping cocktails bringing something new and very needed to the town centre.

Set along the river, Fuego has one of the best spots in Bedford with great views and the perfect place to watch the world goes by on sunny days. Inside the restaurant is warm and inviting with lots of seating and an open kitchen so you can get a glimpse of all the action.
Fuego is brought to us by husband and wife duo, Juan & Beatriz, owners of Ole Tapas Bar in Wolverton, Milton Keynes. Well known for their first class food and excellent service, they decided to take on a new challenge here in Bedford. Fuego is a bigger site, bigger kitchen and bigger bar, so there is a lot more they can do!

The menu is based on Barcelona style tapas and uses some of the best Spanish ingredients money can buy. There are traditional dishes and more modern takes on the classics, such as the Arroz a la Luana con Secreto Iberico, Fuego's signature rice dish with Iberian pork and homemade stocks - a must order!

I've eaten my way around this menu a couple of times already and so far I've not found a single thing I dislike. From the Boquerones con Crisps, white pickled anchovies, to start followed swiftly by dish after beautiful dish, it is foodie heaven. Other favourites of mine include the Brocoli con Almendras, turning the humble broccoli into something very special, and the Fuego Tortilla Vagas, perfectly runny and topped with delicious chorizo.

The drinks menu is not to be missed either, and if you can grab a seat at the bar, then you're in for a real treat. The cocktails are made to be seen, expect fire, smoke and lots of fun! The fantastic Foxy and team will gladly guide you through the menu, and the mocktail selection is top notch too. If you don't fancy a cocktail, there is a great choice of Spanish beers & wines to choose from, as well as pretty much any drink you might fancy. This is easily one of Bedford's best stocked bars.

Fuego Tapas & Grill is a very welcome addition to the Bedfordshire foodie scene as far as I'm concerned, it's a real breath of fresh air and injecting some much needed excitement too. It's another marvellous independent restaurant in Bedford's already thriving indie scene!
I know the team at Fuego have a lot of exciting plans for the future, so make sure to keep an eye out for all that is to come.
